Cooley Dickinson Awarded 7th Consecutive “A” Grade for Safety

Northampton, MA – Cooley Dickinson Hospital has been awarded a 7^th consecutive “A” grade for safety by the Leapfrog Group, an independent, national not-for-profit watchdog organization. The announcement was made on Wednesday.

“Receiving our seventh consecutive Leapfrog “A” grade is a tremendous accomplishment,” said Cooley Dickinson Hospital President and CEO Lynnette M. Watkins, MD, MBA. “I am extremely proud of our staff and providers for the safe, high-quality care they provide every day.”

The Leapfrog Group has a 10-year history of assigning letter grades to general hospitals throughout the United States, based on a hospital’s ability to prevent medical errors and harm to patients. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent, and free to the public.

Safety Grade results are based on more than 30 national performance measures and are updated each fall and spring.
