My Philosophy
I believe it is the highest privilege to be entrusted with safeguarding a person’s health, and I strive to never lose sight of the human in front of me. I approach each patient encounter as I would want my own family to be treated in similar circumstances. To me, the practice of medicine means bringing humility, compassion and curiosity to a lifetime of learning.
Biography
Dr. Chapin has devoted himself to the goal of being an expert in Acute Medical Care and has dedicated his professional life to staying on the cutting edge of the Science of Emergency Medicine. Prior to joining the team at Cooley Dickinson, he honed his skills in a busy ER in south Florida, adapted to COVID as Medical Director of Employee Health, and was deeply involved in and passionate about medical education. Outside of work he loves spending time outdoors with his wife, two kids, and three dogs. He is an avid cyclist and runner, loves exploring nature and is always trying to hone his skills with woodworking, barbecuing and brewing beer while doing his best to avoid a personal visit to the ER.
