Patient and Family Information

Thank you for choosing Cooley Dickinson for your medical care. While you are here, we’ll do our best to make your visit a comfortable one. Our physicians, nurses and staff take pride in our ability to care for the people in our community: you, your parents, children and partners; and we believe that every patient deserves the same care and attention we would give to our own parents, children and partners. In a small community like the Pioneer Valley, many times these are one and the same.

At Cooley Dickinson Hospital you’ll be cared for in modern facilities that feature state-of-the-art diagnostic capabilities. Highly qualified staff and health care providers offer you an excellent array of award-winning services, many of which have earned recognition and praise from outside organizations and won awards for safety and quality. Our physicians and patient care staff strive to exceed your expectations, and meet your concerns with patience, compassion and genuine empathy.

Your Hospital Stay

Patients who are admitted to Cooley Dickinson Hospital receive a welcome packet to help orient them to the hospital, its services and the kind of high-quality care they should expect to receive. We endeavor to make your stay as comfortable as we can, and attending nurses and staff are always available to help relieve discomfort, facilitate your access to amenities, media and entertainment and inform you on all your choices for meals, social opportunities and such available activities at the hospital as your health and mobility allow. Many rooms are equipped with personal, bed-side televisions, and the entire hospital campus enjoys free public wi-fi connection to the Internet. If you’re staying with us, we encourage you to bring phones, tablets, portable games, books and magazines to help keep you occupied during your treatment and recovery, and to help you stay connected to your friends and family.

If you have additional questions or concerns, please speak with your care provider. As our guest, you are entitled to have your needs met with compassion, care, and concern. It is our goal to make your visit a positive one. We hope you find your accommodations comfortable and we wish you well.
